A ridge of high pressure will build across the UK today, bringing a largely dry and settled day for most, though northern Scotland will see a few showers and cloudier skies in the west.

What will the weather be like today and tonight?

The live conditions above show the current temperature and wind in your area. For most of England and Wales, expect a bright, dry day with light winds and highs of 21–23 °C. The far north-west of Scotland may see patchy rain, but even there it should be largely fine by evening. Tonight remains clear in the east, with a touch of ground frost possible in rural spots. The west will see cloud thickening overnight, with a little drizzle possible by dawn.

Will the dry weather last?

High pressure begins to weaken from Thursday, with an Atlantic front approaching. This brings a return to more unsettled conditions, especially for western areas on Friday. The south and east should stay drier for longer, but a band of rain will push across the country by the weekend. Check the 10 Day Weather Forecast UK for your location to plan ahead.

Will it be warm enough to sit outside?

In southern and eastern parts, afternoon temperatures will be pleasant at 20–23 °C — ideal for a garden break if you have some shelter from the breeze. Further north it will feel cooler, especially in the breeze.

Are there any weather warnings active?
