No reliable net worth figure exists in official, audited sources. Celebrity net worth websites suggest figures around £8–10 million, but none of the higher-credibility profiles available – including his official agency page or his speaker profile – provide an audited or sourced estimate. Any number circulating online should be treated cautiously.
His wealth would logically come from decades of presenting News at Ten, book royalties (including An Improbable Life and On Cricket), and fees for public speaking engagements. He also served as Chancellor of London South Bank University and as a governor at King’s College School, Wimbledon, though those roles are largely honorary.
None of the high-credibility sources (Wikipedia, ITN archives, the National Portrait Gallery) provide a specific net worth. Online estimates vary widely and should not be taken as fact.

The family lives a largely private life. McDonald rarely discusses his children in interviews, and no confirmed public photographs of them are available. His wife Josephine occasionally accompanies him to events but avoids the media spotlight.
Who is the baseball player Trevor McDonald?
A different Trevor McDonald plays professional baseball. Born around 1996, he is a right-handed pitcher in the San Francisco Giants organization, currently in the minor league system. His official stats and news are tracked on ESPN’s player profile.
He was drafted by the Giants and has worked his way through their farm teams. As of the latest season, he recorded an ERA around 3.50. He aims to reach the major league roster. The confusion between the two Trevor McDonalds leads many searchers to ask for “Trevor McDonald Giants stats” – those queries point to the baseball pitcher, not the broadcaster.
