Danny Mac is a British actor and singer who rose to national prominence through two distinct roles: playing Dodger Savage in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks and later reaching the final of Strictly Come Dancing in 2016. Born on 26 February 1988, he has since built a career spanning television, theatre, and streaming series. This article brings together verified biographical details, career highlights, and current information about his personal life, including his marriage to actress Carley Stenson, while addressing common questions and clarifying areas where public records remain incomplete.
Much of the available information about Mac comes from Wikipedia, the BBC’s Strictly profile, and several entertainment news outlets. These sources consistently describe him as an actor and singer, not a comedian, and they confirm key milestones such as his wedding in 2017 and the birth of his daughter in 2021. For queries such as an alleged accident or a role in School Spirits, the evidence is less clear or absent altogether.

His time on the soap lasted until 2015 and established him as a household name among British television audiences. The role required both dramatic and comedic performances, which may explain why some viewers later wondered whether he worked as a comedian. He did not; his background is in acting and musical theatre, not stand-up or sketch comedy.
Danny Mac on Strictly Come Dancing
In 2016, Mac took part in the fourteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with professional dancer Oti Mabuse. The BBC profile describes him as an actor who was 28 at the time of the competition.
